Cincinnati, OH, February 16, 2016 – Graybach, LLC, a local general contracting and construction management company, lands yet another landmark project in the revitalization of downtown Cincinnati – the installation of iconic Union Terminal murals at Duke Energy Convention Center.

The $750,000 project is funded by the City of Cincinnati and involves relocating nine murals from the Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky International Airport to Duke Energy Convention Center on Central Avenue in downtown Cincinnati. The murals, weighing in at 8 tons each, were originally designed for Union Terminal in the 1930s, which they called home until being moved to the airport in 1973. Created by artist Winold Reiss, the glass-tile mosaics depict laborers inside Cincinnati manufacturers Procter & Gamble, Baldwin Piano, and Crosley Broadcasting. As reported by WCPO, Mayor John Cranley said, “The Airport Board is helping us save this beautiful artwork that is so important to our local history.”

To complete the relocation and installation of the murals to the exterior wall of the Duke Energy Convention Center, Graybach Project Manager Nathan Williams and Superintendent Joel Grace will oversee a strict schedule to complete the foundations, safely erect the fragile murals, and enclose the murals to protect them from environmental elements. The project is underway and the design of the glass enclosures is being finalized. Nonetheless, it is scheduled for completion in May-June 2016.
